One of the great issues we had at V.Office in the latest years was the seizure of new opportunities in software development and open source mixed with the traditional lines of business carried by the company previously. The trend was to lose focus and to create a false perception that the company does anything for anyone. We have been always focused on networks, so VoIP and IP telephony seemed to make a lot of sense. However, the fact that to have open source and proprietary solutions being sold by the same company is confusing for customers and even internally. The open source business is completely different than the traditional VAR business and needs to be managed in a very different way. The solution adopted was to create corporate spinoffs, a different company with its own brand, marketing, website and sales team. We have created two new spinoffs. The first one is called GNOVIT (“Know How” in latim) dedicated to solutions based on Asterisk such as midrange PBXs, Call Centers and IVRs. The second spinoff is called SIP Pulse, dedicated entirely to the service provider market with a pre-paid and post-paid high-volume solution based on the OpenSIPS.
With these changes, The V.Office Consulting Associates, returns to its main focus that is a VAR with consolidated partnerships with Cisco Systems (Premier Partner), Microsoft( Gold Partner), Novell (Platinum Partner) and McAfee (Elite Partner). This gives more transparency and clarity to our customers and employees. These changes have been already in place since the beginning of the year and now we are just announcing it publicly. The internal results in terms of productivity are validating the solution adopted. The training business unit gained a new website http://www.voffice.com.br/training simplifying the search of calendars and related information. We also defined an international name for the company V.Office Networks with the website http://www.vofficenetworks.com pointing to the same website that is now multilingual to support the international activities of the company such as the OpenSIPS Bootcamps.
